Back to today`s recipe. This fish chutney is steamed in a wrapping like banana leaf. If you can`t find banana leaves don`t worry I have a solution to prepare. Check out the recipe.

Ingredients:
1. Dried Small fish likes anchovies - 1cup
2. Shallots - 5 to 6
3. Green chilli - 2
4. Chilli powder - 1/2tspn or add dry red chilli.
5. Grated coconut - 3tspn(fresh or dried)
6. Banana leaf if available or use the below technique.
7. Salt

Procedure:
Wash the dried fish properly and keep on a sieve to drain off the water. Cut the shallots into small pieces. Take your motor and pestle and add the green chillies, shallots and salt. Crush them then add the chilli powder and the fish. Mix the ingredients gently with a spoon and crush once more.

Transfer them to a bowl and add the grated coconut. Mix well and check for salt. If banana leaf is available at your place then wrap this chutney with the leaves to steam. Otherwise take the steamer/even pressure cooker will do. Add some water and place your idli mould in it. When the water starts to boil slowly place the chutney bowl over the mould and cover it with a lid. Close the cooker and don`t keep the whistle.

Let the chutney steam for 15-20 minutes. Well after that open and check, steamed chutney is ready. Enjoy with hot rice.
