Mushroom and potato stew


Description:
Simple dish that can be served with a variety of main dishes.

Vellayappam(Pancake with coconut)
Appam
Chiratta Puttu

Ingredients:
1. Button mushroom - 2pkt
2. Potatoes- 2(medium)
3. Green chillies - 4 to 5
4. Ginger
5. Garlic
6. Coconut milk - 1cup
7. Turmeric powder - 1/2tspn
8. Garam masala - 1/2tspn
10. Coriander powder - 1tspn
11. Oil
12. Salt to taste


Procedure:
Slice the onions. Crush the ginger and garlic. Chop the mushrooms and potatoes into cubes. Take a wok and pour some oil. Add the onions and saute for sometime with little turmeric powder. Next add the crushed green chillies, ginger and garlic. Then goes in the potatoes.



Cook till the potatoes are half done. Then add the mushrooms.  Next add salt, remaining turmeric powder, coriander powder and the garam masala. Cover and cook till the potatoes and mushroom are 95% done.








 Finally pour in the coconut milk and some water if required and simmer on low flame for few more minutes till the veggies are completely done.





Check salt and add more if required. Stew is ready. Serve with rice, appam, chapati etc. Enjoy
